Please Join us for the Nominee Announcement: Saskatchewan Music Awards Wednesday, November 13

SaskMusic will honour excellence, and celebrate the achievements of our music industry members over the past year, with the Saskatchewan Music Awards. The awards will kick off the Very Prairie: Music Summit (November 29-December 1/2019), and will be held on Thursday, November 28 in Saskatoon. Registration for the music summit is underway.

You’re invited to join us as we announce the nominees of the 2019 Saskatchewan Music Awards.

The Saskatchewan Music Awards Thursday November 28, 2019 The Broadway Theatre, 715 Broadway Avenue, Saskatoon Doors 7pm, Show 7:30pm Advance tickets are on sale now for just $20 plus service fees:

Featuring performances by respectfulchild, Yellowsky, 3 Moonjask, Jay & Jo and more TBA

Presented on this evening will be the winners of the Artist of the Year categories (Alternative, Experimental or Contemporary, Country, Electronic, Hip Hop, Metal/Loud, Rock/Pop, Roots/Folk, and Indigenous); Single of the Year; Music Video of the Year; the Breaking Borders Award presented by the Derek Bachman Foundation; Industry Achievement Award; Venue of the Year; and Producer of the Year. The long list of Best Saskatchewan Albums will also be announced with public voting to commence on November 29.

The official awards after-party will be held at Amigos Cantina, 806 Dufferin Avenue, Saskatoon; doors 9:30pm, show 10:00pm. Free entry with awards show ticket or $5 at the door; performers for this event TBA.

We offer one-on-one guidance, workshops, marketing and export assistance, career development opportunities, peer sessions, artist and business listings, and more. From songwriters and freelance musicians to studios, we work with artists and industry members from across our province, in an extensive range of genres and skill levels. SaskMusic is a source of information and resources for both the public, and the music industry.

The awards will be held on November 28 in Saskatoon, in conjunction with the Very Prairie: Saskatchewan Music Summit, running through December 1, 2019. The Summit will welcome industry professionals from across Canada and abroad for an intensive conference.

Artistic: Artist of the Year Categories: There are no sales qualifications for these categories. Please note these are broad categories; if you don’t see your exact genre listed, simply apply in the most appropriate one.

· Alternative Artist of the Year

· Country Artist of the Year

· Electronic Artist of the Year

· Experimental or Contemporary Artist of the Year

· Hip Hop Artist of the Year

· Metal/Loud Artist of the Year

· Rock/Pop Artist of the Year

· Roots/Folk Artist of the Year

· Indigenous Artist of The Year

As well, we will recognize the Single of the Year, Best Saskatchewan Albums of the Year, Venue of the Year, and Producer of the Year. The Derek Bachman Foundation will present the Breaking Borders Award.
